Review: Lush face masks + massage bars.
Ah, Winter. The season that gives us such beautiful snowy mountains, hot chocolates, and plenty of good reasons to stay inside watching movies all day. Unfortunately it's also the most draining season for our bodies: it's cold, it's wet and it's miserable. That's why it's important to make sure you look after yourself inside and out - and what better way to do so than with a mini pampering session à la Lush?
While their bath bombs are the obvious go-to, Lush has plenty other amazing products to help kick your Winter blues, including their face masks and their massage bars. Check out our impressions of these two feel-great goodies below…
'LOVE LETTUCE' FACE MASK - RRP $16.50 / 60g
One of my favourite things about Lush's face mask range is that they're all freshly handmade, and 'Love Lettuce' is no exception. This exfoliating mask is packed full of nutritious ingredients that leave your skin with a radiant glow. The earthy ingredients really helped tone down the redness in my face and oil was visibly reduced. If you're weirded out by the fact that it's made from seaweed gel and Fuller's Earth, take my word for it, give it a whirl and thank me later.
'COSMETIC WARRIROR' FACE MASK - RRP $16.50 / 60g
First things first: one of the main ingredients in this face mask is garlic. Now, you can think "GROSS! THAT'S SO WRONG. I'M NOT PUTTING GARLIC ON MY FACE" (because I did at first), or you can put aside your first instincts and realise that Lush have included garlic in the recipe because it is AH-MAZING for skin. My face is prone to the odd spot, rather than acne, and this mask helped reduce, soothe and clean these problem areas. Turns out garlic not only wards off vampires, but pimples too!
'TENDER IS THE NIGHT' MASSAGE BAR - RRP $18.50 / 50g
Let me first address the main question surrounding massage bars: Yes! Of course you can use them by yourself. They're perfect for moisturising and soothing your skin while also providing elements of relaxation and stress relief. 'Tender Is The Night' is probably one of the most nurturing products I've ever used on my skin. It distributes really easily, and my skin was soft for hours upon hours after application. This bar also has the most amazing aroma - if I didn't know any better, I'd try to eat it, which always says something for body products!
'SHADES OF EARL GREY' MASSAGE BAR - RRP $18.50 / 50g
Ignore the name - this massage bar is full of goodness! The most striking thing about 'Shades Of Earl Grey' is the scent. Reminiscent of early morning cups of tea and sweet citrus, this bar leaves the room smelling gorgeous long after use. The bar itself melts like a dream and really helps to relieve aching muscles. Perfect winter weapon!
