Review: Pusha T - Studio, January 2015.
Whenever you go to a rap show, you expect to see the artist hyping themselves up as a great rapper. It's standard. But at Pusha T's debut New Zealand show last night at Auckland's Studio, the hype was deservingly so - and the crowd definitely agreed, as the chants of "King Push" echoed through the venue.
As an artist who has soared to even greater heights in the past year, from becoming the President of G.O.O.D Music, releasing a new Adidas collaboration, to releasing a critically acclaimed album 'Darkest Before Dawn' at the end of last year.
Pusha's live show is just as impressive as you'd imagine - he performed songs from the new album in the form of 'Untouchable' and 'Crutches, Crosses, Caskets', songs from the 2012 G.O.O.D Music album 'Cruel Summer', as well as parts of his input on Kanye West's 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'.
As well as rapping on point, his banter with the audience was excellent - he not only promoted his fellow G.O.O.D Music label-mates, but was immensely grateful for the crowd who've supported him over the years.
