Is Dirty Hit’s latest signing The Candescents?

Having just been announced as Pale Waves’ opening act for their US tour, The Candescents appear at first glance to be an entirely new band. But after doing a little digging online, it seems that the band previously released a five track EP named ‘Bedheads’ back in July 2015 - all of which has since been deleted from the internet.

The Columbus, Ohio-based band are followed on Twitter by The 1975’s Matty Healy, Dirty Hit’s Jamie Oborne, and Wolf Alice’s Joel Dilla, with a Twitter bio that simply reads: “We're a rock n roll band, man.”

Jump ahead to March 2016, and this tweet from Dirty Hit’s Jamie Oborne hints at the band’s involvement with Dirty Hit:

The four-piece, comprised of Alex Harris, Alex von Lehmden, Miguel Alfredo Acero III, and Cody von Lehmden currently have no music online available to listen to, however previous comments about their older release have said:

And now with the announcement of their opening slot for Pale Waves this November and December, we’re assuming that we'll be hearing new music from the band soon - and with comparisons to Twin Peaks and Arctic Monkeys, you can count us intrigued.
